Gong Xi Fa Cai!
A happy Chinese New Year to all! We are currently on a short break for the holidays. Our next concert will be in April at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts' Lee Foundation Theatre. Do watch out for our announcements on our rehearsal schedule!
Dear all, thank you for putting up a superb concert on 10 Jan! And to the marvelous audience, a huge thank you for coming to share the music with us. Also our heartfelt gratitude to the outstanding composers, and especially our young talents Alan Kartik and Daniel Yiau, whose commissions we premiered.
To our various guest players, a very very big thank you. If you’d like to join us for future projects, do let Kelvin know and we’ll keep you updated; you are also very welcome to join us for our usual practices on Saturdays (and some Sundays).
For AudioImage members, we will resume practice immediate this coming Saturday, 16 Jan 2010. This is in preparation for our next concert, on 11 April 2010 (Sunday), at NAFA’s Lee Foundation Theatre. We will be trying out new repertoire. For those members who have borrowed instruments, please return them this week for our annual stock-check. Thank you!

AudioImage Wind Ensemble is privileged and honoured to showcase a programme of important music written by Singaporean composers for the wind band in the last three decades. With an evolution in the makeup and quality of local wind ensembles, there is also a noticeable transition in style. We are also proud to be presenting world premieres of two works by up-and-coming composers, Daniel Yiau and Alan Kartik.
Hi all, there will be a get-together for AudioImage members on 20 December 2009, Sunday. It will be held at Lai Yee’s house, please arrive at 1pm to catch the buffet lunch, catered by our dear Music Director :) We will also be discussing our plans for the next year, and hope everyone will get to know each other better.
Please contact Kelvin if you need directions to Lai Yee’s house. See you guys there!
Dear all,
due to unforseen circumstances, AudioImage is sorry to announce that our Singaporean Wind Music Showcase for 2009 will be postponed to 10 January 2010. However, the programme will remain the same; and, if any of your friends would like his/her compositions to be featured, please do approach any of us in the committee or Clarence himself for further discussions :)

Congrats to our Music Director! Mr Clarence Tan appears in an exclusive interview on Band Fusion’s Bi-monthly (son-to-be quarterly) magazine, The Bandscoop! Read on how he balances playing the double bass in the predominantly-string environment of the orchestra, with conducting and directing a relatively string-less wind orchestra. Discover the insights he has about conducting a wind band and why he chooses such difficult repertoire for his bands!

For our next concert, AudioImage will be presenting a showcase of original music written by Singaporean composers, specifically for the wind symphony. This will form the first in the series of concerts called the “Singaporean Wind Music Showcase”, which we’re planning to do as an annual affair. The repertoire is below:
